Howdy! This is my first post on Artclick - I really enjoy working with Photoshop, and this is one of my creations. It was originally a so-so self portrait.

Curls for Christmas

By Lidljo written 12/7/06 3:01 PM, published 12/7/06 3:01 PM
Last week I had some fun photographing ribbon as it curled off the roll it was wrapped on.  Then I photoshopped it some to make it into art.  What do you think?

I hope you liked them, but please feel free to give me suggestions.  Lidljo

New Beginnings In Visual Art In 2006

So finally the New Year has come in. Howdee dogs! Woof!!! Woof!!! Happy New Year!!! My uncle is starting 2006 off with a photography exhibit in the Visayan city of Cebu. A very big, modern and sophisticated metro, like Manila. The process started with a number of select pictures which he shot in 120mm black and white. These were then passed over to me as digital drum scans and were "Photoshoped" by me. Then they were taken to the printers and printed on acid free paper the size of around... 30x30 inches. These prints are then to be manipulated further by him by means of "tearing" them up and collaging them back together and with one another to produce the final artworks. So therefore, even though the final  pieces may not be "mine", i reserve the right to post the images here (due also to the fact that he has consented and suggested that i do so) in the forms that they took "after" i post-produced them in Photoshop and in their original states. I hope that you enjoy them and let me know what you think of them. I also hope that they will illustrate my hopes that more artworks are posted here that show more of "the surreal" and aim to compel ones being to shift unto a different state of mind...

The owner of the print shop was fairly impressed with these things and has offered my uncle and i a back-to-back show in his new gallery. It is for this purpose that i have already started on my own pieces too. My artworks will be stand-alone images though(i.e.: No further physical manipulations. What you see is the final noodle and will be printed unto acid free paper and mounted on sandwiched in plexi-glass). Here is my first piece, a work in progress...
