Viking Goal!

I painted this a few years ago when my son was in high school and played basketball for the Vikings, naturally! I named it Popup Link

"Viking Goal" which has multiple meanings.

Funny you should mention that blizzard. I couldn't get the shadow to look right in the original drawing. So I went out took down the basketball goal we had,brought it inside, set it up with a light casting the correct angle of shadow, photographed it, and hung the pic on my drawing table to use for reference. Taking pictures is so much easier! 8o)

I cheated with the dirty ball prints... the cheerleaders throw out miniature balls during halftime and I could usually get them to throw some our way. I then took them... laid out a thin layer of paint... pressed the balls on it and then stamped the backboard. I guess it's not really cheating... just using a round brush with dimples!
